Is this your first 10k? Can you commit to running three times a week for 8 weeks? If so, this is the plan for you! Of course, if you have any health concerns, please make sure to seek your physician’s advice before starting.

Matt Wilpers has coached many athletes, from beginners to Ironman triathletes, through training programs successfully! He specializes in endurance sports including running, cycling and triathlon. One of the most important aspects of being successful in this program, or any of his programs, is to allocate sufficient time for both training and the necessary maintenance work to be performed. This plan will guide you through a full 8 weeks of training to be able to run your first 10k race.

Novice 10k Runner Program includes:

  • 8 week detailed schedule of training
  • 3 specific runs per week with pacing info
  • Information on cross-training and strength training to help increase run performance
  • Advice for stretching and foam rolling
  • Basic nutrition information for runners
  • Coaching tips from Matt
